Cant see the buttons on the hex tiles?

πŸ•
We were using LR buttons before this and were up to 8 of them.

We are now using the Fluent Pet ones, and we went back to the original 2 buttons to help with the transition.

But... my learner is having a lot of trouble pressing the FP buttons - he keeps completely missing them. He β€˜presses’ an open spot near a Button or even waves/swipes over the general area of the button, but it takes him several times to get it.

This issue didn’t happen with the LR buttons on a beige foam mat nor does it happen if we put the FP buttons right on the floor.

Is it possible that he cannot see the buttons when they are on the Fluent Pet foam hex tiles?

He seemed frustrated with the buttons today, which was sad to see because he had been loving them before now.

I am hoping someone may have experienced this or has insights on what could be happening so I can help my learner to get back on track so he can continue having fun.

How to connect to the floor

Learner is a Great Dane so it doesn’t take much for the board to move. We are using the Fluent pet board and our floors are VLT.

How do you address clear misclicks?

πŸ•
I can’t figure out how to add a video on the app, so I will try to describe this well.

Learner was near his buttons so I asked when he wants. He touched play but quickly corrected to food. He touched food more than once. I asked if he wanted food and he pressed food again. It was 8 mins before his normal dinner time, so I am nearly certain that he just wanted food.

Do you ignore the first button when it’s pretty clear it was an error?
