Hi everyone π In my free time I love to travel, hike, paint and I'm very passionate about animals.
Matjes is a savannah kitten, named after the herring fish βMatjesβ π and he is a "play" button addict.
Currently I am transitioning the buttons to a central place/board. I did move the buttons for weeks before inch by inch and consolidated them in the middle of the living room. As I saw that the learner is really confused and not really using the buttons I removed all the buttons besides his most favourite one βplayβ and my favourite one βall doneβ π.
My learner would press the button sometimes but not compared to the previous usage. So I thought I would try to go back to basics.
In the beginning my learner started to use the buttons when I put them on a blanket. So I tricked him with me blanket on top of the tiles and after a few minutes he started to use the play button as he used before π
So if your learner struggles, it might be helpful to comfort him with small things which he liked in the first place π.
I am planning to transition the buttons to a soundboard. Before I start I want to find the best location for it so I donβt have to move it again and set back the progression.Β
Did anyone had experience that the learner liked a place better than the another? And if so, which place is better? More central where is a lot of movement or a little bit quieter in a corner.Β
Perhaps not to near to the wall? I feel like my learner doesn't use the button if I put it to close to a wall.
Matjes has so much energy as a savannah cat that if he is in play mode he would press the "play" button for hours ^^.
As we are in the early stages of button training, we don't have the "later" button yet. So I am continuously playing with him for hours if he demands playtime because I want to reinforce his usage of the buttons.Β
