hi, i'm Oden's mon.
Well, Oden watches me push buttons and is understanding, but he is in a faze where he is not using them. I have taken the "inside" button away because he was frustrated when I did not respond right away. He hid the button again. Don't want to discourage him because I'm not responding. When he is outside side I'm not always around when he wants in and sometimes he needs the outside time. Hope this faze ends soon.Β
ο»Ώ Tanyr, Kailey, and Sawyer ο»Ώ Each animal has its own personality, which I'm sure you have observed. Each species has its own personality. Yes, you will use similar techniques for all the animals you train. You will use your understanding of Sawyer to modify your approach. Just like having children, they all learn, but not necessarily exactly the same way. The main thing is that you have succeeded with a very large animal who could just as well hurt you, but who learned to trust you. The quality of trust Sawyer has for you will gain the best results for both of you.Β  Patients and consistent expectations, all of which you already know. Enjoy theΒ  learning together. As you know, having close meaningful communications with your animals is the greatest reward.
Yes, Oden pushed 'Outside' button the first day right after I modeled for him. That was one week ago. today after he came in he pressed the button. Looks at it when I press it every time. If this is Shadow's first button, the pad may be a distraction for him. Try removing the pad till he has an interest in the button.Β
