In order to go outside in the garden we go through a conservatory. She has never really been interested in this room and every time she pressed "outside" she has rushed to the door to the garden or to the front door. Today we got lots of mail with loads of great delicious dog treats/snacks. I ended up put them in the conservatory, hidden away, as she had been too interested in the boxed and crawled all over them in the living room.
A couple of hours later my learner pressed "outside". When I opened the door to the conversatory she went straight over to the box with the snacks and didn't want to go outside.
I don't know if she intentionally tricked me and I don't know if she remembers the boxes with snacks or could smell it, when I opened the door. I still find the experience interesting. Especially since she definitely didn't actually want to go outside. I also don't know if she sees the conservatory as being "outside", however during the summer and most of the year the doors to the conservatory are open and part of the living room.

Hi, My learner took 2 weeks to learn "outside" and another 1 week to learn "play" and "all done". I added "tug", "ball" and "water", some weeks ago and she doesn't get them.Β
I am handing in my thesis in beginning of Januar and therefore don't have as much time to sit and practice these words with her or interact with her. I was therefore considering removing the last 3 buttons I added and instead adding some buttons/words I use every day like "scritches" and "later". Have anyone any experience with removing buttons? does it halt the learning process?Β
I am afraid that is I don't interact with my learner when she presses the buttons "tug", "ball" and "water", then she will just stop using them and therefore it will get even harder for her to learn them, when I get time to sit and practice them.
Thank you in advance.

My learner is progressing so quickly! I am mind blown!Β
I am now going to add toys to her board. For now I am adding "ball" and "tug" however I am unsure, if I should also add "chewy", "teddy" end/or "bird". I am unsure if that will be too many new buttons for her to learn or if it is best to add them all at once?Β
Thank you in advance.

My learner used the "outside" button correctly, but since introducing the "Play" and "all done" button she has started to mix them around. It makes sense, since it is only the beginning. However my question is:
When the learner uses the wrong button should I then say "oops", "try again", model the right behaviour, point towards the right button or something else?
What has worked for you?
Thank you in advance :)Β
